R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Sharing a deep bond of love that has spanned more |
|
|
than six decades, W. J. and Lila Roberson of Midland celebrated |
|
|
their 65th wedding anniversary on June 6, 2009; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, "Robby" and Lila Roberson exchanged the vows of |
|
|
matrimony in Vivian, Louisiana, on that special day in 1944, and |
|
|
over the course of their marriage, they have found in each other a |
|
|
devoted life partner; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Roberson count among their blessings a |
|
|
fine family that includes two daughters, Elaine Sullivan and Linda |
|
|
White, and three sons, Glenn, Mark, and Robert Roberson, as well as |
|
|
15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, with whom they |
|
|
treasure sharing the many special occasions of life; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Highly respected in their community, Mr. and Mrs. |
|
|
Roberson are both retired from Mobil Oil Company and enjoy |
|
|
participating in the activities of the Mobil club; in addition, |
|
|
they are valued members of Crestview Baptist Church, where they |
|
|
take part in numerous programs; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Robby and Lila Roberson can savor a wealth of |
|
|
cherished family memories, and their 65 years of abiding love and |
|
|
affection place them among an exceptional group of men and women who |
|
|
can claim such a lasting commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Robby and Lila |
|
|
Roberson on the occasion of their 65th wedding anniversary and |
|
|
extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be |
|
|
it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Roberson as an expression of high regard |
|
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
