R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a lasting commitment to one another, Cliff and Jean Summers of |
|
|
Midland celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on May 24, 2009; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, On that special day in 1952, Cliff Summers and the |
|
|
former Doris Jean Taff exchanged the vows of matrimony at Central |
|
|
Baptist Church in Brady, where they lived before moving to Midland |
|
|
in 1954; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. Summers is |
|
|
retired from the Darville Company in Odessa and Mrs. Summers is |
|
|
retired from the Marathon Oil Company; in addition to meeting their |
|
|
work and family responsibilities, they are valued members of |
|
|
Wilshire Park Baptist Church; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the course of their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. |
|
|
Summers have found in each other a devoted life partner, and the |
|
|
strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges |
|
|
and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby honor Cliff and Jean |
|
|
Summers on the occasion of their 57th wedding anniversary and |
|
|
extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be |
|
|
it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Summers as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
