H.R. No. 12
 
 
 
R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
  by a lasting commitment to one another, Cliff and Jean Summers of
  Midland celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on May 24, 2009;
  and
         WHEREAS, On that special day in 1952, Cliff Summers and the
  former Doris Jean Taff exchanged the vows of matrimony at Central
  Baptist Church in Brady, where they lived before moving to Midland
  in 1954; and
         WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. Summers is
  retired from the Darville Company in Odessa and Mrs. Summers is
  retired from the Marathon Oil Company; in addition to meeting their
  work and family responsibilities, they are valued members of
  Wilshire Park Baptist Church; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of their marriage, Mr. and Mrs.
  Summers have found in each other a devoted life partner, and the
  strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges
  and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby honor Cliff and Jean
  Summers on the occasion of their 57th wedding anniversary and
  extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Summers as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
