R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
by a great and enduring love, the Reverend Adrian Bird and Mrs. |
|
Grace Bird celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on June 9, |
|
2009; and |
|
WHEREAS, Reverend and Mrs. Bird were united in matrimony in |
|
1939; through the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage |
|
that has been made even richer with the addition of their sons and |
|
their wives, Rodney and Betty Bird, Ray and Velta Bird, and Joe and |
|
Anita Bird, and their family has grown to include their |
|
granddaughters, Rae Ann Pool, Teri Webb, Deborah Alexander, Jody |
|
Monroe, and Ronda Parker, and their great-grandchildren, Lindse |
|
Pool, Jorilyn Webb, Raegan Webb, Dakota Monroe, Savannah Monroe, |
|
Nathan Alexander, and Kharese Alexander; and |
|
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past |
|
seven decades, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant |
|
in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love |
|
has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with |
|
grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Adrian and |
|
Grace Bird on their 70th wedding anniversary and extend to them |
|
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Reverend and Mrs. Bird as an expression of high regard |
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
