R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Rolling Thunder, Inc., Texas Chapter 1, is making a
  positive difference in the lives of veterans and their families;
  and
         WHEREAS, Founded in January 2008, the chapter is part of the
  national organization Rolling Thunder, Inc., which seeks to educate
  the public about the phenomenon of prisoners of war and those
  missing in action and to bring accountability for POWs and MIAs of
  all wars; and
         WHEREAS, Texas Chapter 1 members work to further the cause of
  Rolling Thunder, whose activities include donating POW/MIA flags to
  schools and other groups, sponsoring search missions into Southeast
  Asia, and organizing a wide range of veteran outreach; in addition,
  chapter members participate in the annual Memorial Day weekend "Run
  to the Wall" and generously contribute their time year-round in
  behalf of their fellow veterans; and
         WHEREAS, To those who have known the terrible rigors of
  prison camps and to those who never came home to their families and
  loved ones, Americans owe an eternal debt of remembrance, and the
  members of Rolling Thunder, Inc., Texas Chapter 1, have undertaken
  to honor this debt in a real and meaningful way; now, therefore, be
  it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby honor Rolling Thunder,
  Inc., Texas Chapter 1, for its efforts to raise awareness of this
  country's POWs and MIAs and their families and extend to its members
  sincere best wishes for success with their important work; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Rolling Thunder, Inc., Texas Chapter 1, as an
  expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
