R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Jerry Cargill was named the 2008 Outstanding Citizen |
|
|
by the Greater Marshall Chamber of Commerce; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Cargill was recognized by the organization based |
|
|
on his continued efforts to revitalize downtown Marshall; as the |
|
|
co-owner of the Hotel Marshall, Mr. Cargill restored the historic |
|
|
building and has remodeled several other downtown buildings, |
|
|
businesses, and residential spaces, and he has brought a favorite |
|
|
local restaurant to the city's center; he has committed himself to |
|
|
working with Marshall's officials and civic groups to ensure a |
|
|
bright and prosperous future for the area; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Jerry Cargill has contributed in significant ways to |
|
|
the greater good of his community, and he has garnered the lasting |
|
|
respect and appreciation of his fellow citizens; now, therefore, be |
|
|
it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Jerry Cargill |
|
|
on his receipt of the 2008 Outstanding Citizen award from the |
|
|
Greater Marshall Chamber of Commerce and extend to him sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Cargill as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
