R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Gloria M. Turner and Robert L. Turner, Jr., of |
|
|
Pittsburg have received the 2008 John M. Holman Museum Excellence |
|
|
Award from the Northeast Texas Rural Heritage Center and Museum; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Northeast Texas Rural Heritage Center and Museum |
|
|
in Pittsburg showcases the rich history and culture of Northeast |
|
|
Texas; the museum's two sites feature a vintage railroad depot, a |
|
|
restored farmstead, and a replica of the Ezekiel Airship, an early |
|
|
attempt at an aircraft by a Texas inventor; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since 2005, the John M. Holman Museum Excellence |
|
|
Award has honored volunteers for their exemplary service to the |
|
|
museum, and Mr. and Mrs. Turner are truly deserving recipients of |
|
|
the honor; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Bob and Gloria Turner have dedicated themselves to |
|
|
the work and mission of the museum, and their continuing commitment |
|
|
and hard work are contributing immeasurably to the institution's |
|
|
success; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Gloria |
|
|
M. Turner and Robert L. Turner, Jr., for receiving the John |
|
|
M. Holman Museum Excellence Award and extend to them sincere best |
|
|
wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Turner as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
