R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Carol Harder of Mineola has been presented with the
  M Award from Southern Methodist University for her outstanding
  service to the school; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Harder has worked for the university since
  1996, and in her role as assistant to the vice president for student
  affairs, she has become a vital member of the SMU staff; and
         WHEREAS, This energetic and caring individual has been a
  staff leader during the Mustang Corral orientation program and has
  served as president of the SMU Tri Delta Mothers' Club, helping many
  students and their families feel at home at the university; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Harder has also contributed to the university
  as director of administration of the executive board of the SMU
  Staff Association and through her service on numerous committees;
  and
         WHEREAS, A woman of strong religious faith, Mrs. Harder
  started a Bible study and prayer group for staff members in the
  administration building, and she contributes to a daily electronic
  Bible lesson; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Harder's warmth, professionalism, and
  commitment to excellence have earned her the respect and admiration
  of the entire SMU community, and she is truly deserving of this
  prestigious award; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Carol Harder
  for receiving the M Award from Southern Methodist University and
  extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success and
  happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Harder as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
