R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A 65th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of love |
|
|
and shared experiences, and Dr. Walter S. Parks, Jr., and Jeanie |
|
|
Parks of Austin are celebrating this joyous milestone in their |
|
|
marriage in 2009; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Walter and Jeanie Parks were joined in matrimony in |
|
|
1944; through the years, they have been blessed with a treasured |
|
|
family that includes four children; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Dr. Parks |
|
|
practiced obstetrics and gynecology in Midland from 1951 to 1989; |
|
|
Mrs. Parks was the owner of the J. W. Parks Art Gallery and an active |
|
|
participant in many civic, social, and cultural organizations in |
|
|
Midland; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In addition to meeting their career and family |
|
|
responsibilities, Dr. and Mrs. Parks were valued members of the |
|
|
First Presbyterian Church, where Dr. Parks served as an elder and |
|
|
Mrs. Parks sang in the choir for 34 years; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. and Mrs. Parks have enjoyed 6-1/2 decades of |
|
|
abiding love and affection for one another, and they are among an |
|
|
exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting |
|
|
commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Dr. and Mrs. |
|
|
Walter S. Parks, Jr., on their 65th wedding anniversary and extend |
|
|
to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Dr. and Mrs. Parks as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
