R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Joseph Garza of San Antonio has distinguished |
|
|
himself through his exceptional work as a specialist in fertility |
|
|
care, and his accomplishments are indeed deserving of recognition; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Based at the Institute for Women's Health, Dr. Garza |
|
|
has established himself as an authority in the areas of infertility |
|
|
and reproductive endocrinology, and his expertise and dedication |
|
|
are widely admired by his colleagues and patients; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Garza is a graduate of Austin College and earned |
|
|
his medical degree at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical |
|
|
Center at Dallas in 1977; he went on to complete postdoctoral |
|
|
training at a number of institutions, including Bexar County |
|
|
Hospital, John Sealy Hospital in Galveston, and the Green Center |
|
|
for Reproductive Biology Sciences at UT Southwestern Medical |
|
|
Center, where he received a fellowship to study reproductive |
|
|
endocrinology and infertility; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A pioneer in his field of medicine, Dr. Garza |
|
|
performed the first GIFT procedure in private practice in San |
|
|
Antonio in 1985, and he serves as a lecturer and instructor in |
|
|
advanced laser and reproductive surgical and microsurgical |
|
|
procedures; he also shares his knowledge through his membership in |
|
|
professional organizations such as the American Association of |
|
|
Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the Society of Reproductive Surgeons, |
|
|
and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine; moreover, he is |
|
|
a diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor Dr. Joseph Garza and extend to him sincere |
|
|
best wishes for continued success in his important work; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Dr. Garza as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
