H.R. No. 41
 
 
 
R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Diana Arevalo was named Miss Central Texas Latina,
  and this lovely young woman is truly a source of pride to her family
  and community; and
         WHEREAS, In winning this honor, Ms. Arevalo has earned the
  right to represent her fellow Central Texans in the 2009 Miss Latina
  World pageant; and
         WHEREAS, A graduate of The University of Texas at San
  Antonio, Ms. Arevalo has distinguished herself as a United Leader's
  Fellow at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government, as an
  intern for the first Latino state senator of Massachusetts, Jarrett
  Barrios, and for U.S. Senator Ted Kennedy, and by working with the
  San Antonio City Council and the Texas Legislature; and
         WHEREAS, This notable young woman has served her community as
  a member of the George Gervin Youth Center development board and the
  Incarnate Word High School Alumni Association; she's also been a
  girls volleyball coach at the YMCA; and
         WHEREAS, Through her hard work and steadfast commitment to a
  worthy goal, Diana Arevalo has fittingly been recognized as an
  outstanding representative of her Central Texas community; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Diana Arevalo
  on her selection as Miss Central Texas Latina and extend to her
  sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Arevalo as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
