R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Captain Chad Schafer was named the 2008 Firefighter |
|
|
of the Year by the Val Verde County Rural Volunteer Fire Department; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Captain Schafer joined the department eight years |
|
|
ago and served as lieutenant for three years before earning the rank |
|
|
of captain; he has further benefited the department as an engineer, |
|
|
instructor, and hazardous materials technician, and throughout his |
|
|
tenure he has demonstrated exceptional ability and dedication to |
|
|
duty; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In addition to his service with the Val Verde County |
|
|
Rural Volunteer Fire Department, this esteemed Texan has completed |
|
|
basic emergency medical technician training and studied to become a |
|
|
paramedic; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through his exemplary performance as a member of the |
|
|
Val Verde County Rural VFD, Captain Schafer serves as an |
|
|
inspiration to his fellow firefighters, and his outstanding efforts |
|
|
have helped make his community an even safer place in which to live, |
|
|
work, and raise a family; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Chad Schafer |
|
|
on being named the 2008 Val Verde County Rural Volunteer Fire |
|
|
Department Firefighter of the Year and extend to him sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Captain Schafer as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
