R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Jason John Goodwin of Boy Scouts of America Troop |
|
No. 38 has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this accomplishment |
|
truly merits special recognition; and |
|
WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant |
|
honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the |
|
scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding |
|
criteria, Mr. Goodwin earned the requisite 21 merit badges and, for |
|
his Eagle Scout project, refinished a walking and cycling trail at |
|
Canyon Lake and repaired a bridge; and |
|
WHEREAS, This fine young Texan has demonstrated outstanding |
|
leadership ability throughout his scouting career, winning the |
|
respect and admiration of his fellow scouts as he worked toward the |
|
highest rank that scouting offers; a recent graduate of Judson High |
|
School in Converse, where he was a member of the National Honor |
|
Society, he plans to study physical therapy at Texas Lutheran |
|
University; he has further distinguished himself as a talented |
|
athlete who plays football, soccer, and golf; and |
|
WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Goodwin's dedication to excellence and |
|
his perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy |
|
to stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with |
|
pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Jason John |
|
Goodwin on achieving the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him |
|
sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Goodwin as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
