R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Andrea Hannasch has enjoyed a stellar athletic
  career at New Braunfels High School, and her achievements truly
  merit special commendation; and
         WHEREAS, A discus competitor, Ms. Hannasch thrived under the
  guidance of coach Shawn Toliver and won the district title as a
  junior in 2008; as a senior, she not only repeated as district
  champion but also took the regional crown and the University
  Interscholastic League 5A state championship with a throw of 147
  feet, 7 inches; she ranks among the top 35 discus performers in the
  history of UIL meet competition; and
         WHEREAS, In volleyball, this skilled athlete helped lead New
  Braunfels High to the 2005-2006 UIL 4A state title and was a
  three-time all-district and all-state honoree; as a junior, she was
  chosen co-district most valuable player, and as a senior, she was
  named a Prep Volleyball Senior Ace as one of the top 250 seniors in
  the nation and was also selected to the Texas All Star Team and the
  San Antonio Super Elite Team; she will continue her volleyball
  career at the collegiate level, having received a scholarship to
  attend San Diego State University; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of proud parents Rick and Terri
  Hannasch, Ms. Hannasch has also excelled as a student, graduating
  near the top of her class; moreover, she was a four-time academic
  all-district selection in volleyball and a member of the 2008
  academic all-state team for that sport; and
         WHEREAS, Both in the classroom and the athletic arena, Andrea
  Hannasch has demonstrated the skill and commitment befitting a
  champion, and her laudable accomplishments herald a future bright
  with promise; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Texas House of Representatives, 1st Called
  Session, hereby recognize that Andrea Hannasch be congratulated on
  her outstanding high school career and that she be extended sincere
  best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her as an expression of high regard by the Texas House
  of Representatives.
