R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Kevin Lofgren of the Farstar marketing company in |
|
|
Frisco has been nominated for the 2009 Small Business of the Year |
|
|
Award; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Presented by the Texas Association of Business, the |
|
|
Small Business of the Year Award honors a Texas entrepreneur who is |
|
|
both an innovative businessperson and a community leader; TAB |
|
|
selects a number of regional winners, one of whom is presented with |
|
|
the statewide award at an event in Austin; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of Baylor University, Kevin Lofgren was |
|
|
already a successful photographer when he helped to found Farstar |
|
|
in 2001; now CEO, he has led the company to create successful |
|
|
campaigns for such clients as Oracle, Hewlett-Packard, Sun |
|
|
Microsystems, and other companies; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Farstar's success has already been recognized with |
|
|
awards from the Direct Marketing Association, the DFW Interactive |
|
|
Marketing Association, and the Frisco Chamber of Commerce; Mr. |
|
|
Lofgren's achievements have earned him the Celebration of |
|
|
Enterprise Award and made him a finalist for Frisco Chamber of |
|
|
Commerce Entrepreneur of the Year; his role in founding the |
|
|
Mindbender Academy, a science and technology summer camp for young |
|
|
people, has been recognized with a Tech Titans Community Hero |
|
|
Award; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dynamic and creative entrepreneurs play a vital role |
|
|
in the prosperity of Texas, and Kevin Lofgren's accomplishments |
|
|
with Farstar make him a fine nominee for this prestigious award; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Kevin Lofgren |
|
|
on his nomination for the Small Business of the Year Award from the |
|
|
Texas Association of Business and extend to him and his staff |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Lofgren as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
