R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, United States Air Force Technical Sergeant Adrian
  David Saenz of Alice is rendering outstanding service to this
  country as a member of the nation's armed forces; and
         WHEREAS, A 12-year veteran of the air force, Tech Sergeant
  Saenz is a network management NCO-IC with the 95th Communications
  Squadron, stationed at Edwards Air Force Base in California; and
         WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan served his first tour of duty
  overseas from June to October 2007, and during that deployment he
  earned the Aerial Achievement Medal; in November 2008 he shipped
  out again, this time for an assignment at Camp Victory in Baghdad,
  Iraq, where he assisted all branches of the U.S. military with their
  communications; for his significant contributions on this tour of
  duty, he was awarded the Joint Service Commendation Medal; and
         WHEREAS, While Tech Sergeant Saenz was posted overseas, a
  flag was hung in his name on the CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Alice Walk
  of Honor; Sergeant Saenz returned to the U.S. in May 2009, and on
  June 20, 2009, the hospital lowered his flag and presented it to him
  at a public ceremony; participating in the event were CHRISTUS
  Spohn chief nursing officer Margot Rios, Alice mayor Dr. Rito
  Silva, Jr., State Representative Yvonne Gonzalez Toureilles,
  Daughters of the American Revolution representative Marilyn
  Critari, and Sister Carmen Avila, who gave the closing blessing; at
  the conclusion of the program, members of the United Veterans
  Burial Association presented the colors and fired a 21-gun salute
  in tribute to Tech Sergeant Saenz; and
         WHEREAS, Among those in attendance at the ceremony were
  Caprice Calderon, the fiancée of Tech Sergeant Saenz and herself a
  member of the armed forces, as well as his sister, Diana Saenz, an
  army veteran, and his brother, Raul Saenz, a Marine veteran; and
         WHEREAS, Through his courage, professionalism, and devotion
  to duty, Tech Sergeant Adrian David Saenz embodies the highest
  values of the United States Air Force, and he is indeed deserving of
  his fellow citizens' deep respect and appreciation; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Technical Sergeant
  Adrian David Saenz for his exceptional efforts in this country's
  behalf and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success
  in all his endeavors; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Tech Sergeant Saenz as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
