H.R. No. 99
 
 
 
R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
  by a great and enduring love, Bill and Glenda Scott celebrated their
  50th wedding anniversary on June 27, 2009; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Scott were united in matrimony at First
  Baptist Church in Mineola in 1959; through the years, they have
  nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with
  the addition of their children, Gayla and Sheri, and their
  cherished grandchildren, J. J. Hale and Scott Hale of Lewisville;
  and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Scott worked at Builders Steel Construction
  Company before being called to active duty in August 1961; he later
  spent 12 years in the cable television business; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Scott worked as a calculator operator at Morton
  Foods; she later established the successful Scott Catering, where
  she baked wedding cakes and prepared catered food for community
  events, class reunions, weddings, and company parties; she opened a
  floral shop in 1980 and expanded her prosperous catering business;
  and
         WHEREAS, Ever the entrepreneurs, Mr. Scott opened Bill Scott
  Photography in 1985 and the couple combined their catering and
  photography businesses, later adding Scott Travel to their thriving
  businesses; and
         WHEREAS, Much has changed in the world over the past five
  decades, but this devoted husband and wife have remained constant
  in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love
  has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with
  grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Bill and
  Glenda Scott on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and
  extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Scott as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
