SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 24
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Robert King Hillier on the auspicious occasion of his
  50th birthday; and
         WHEREAS, This distinguished gentleman is well known for
  his expertise and dedication in the field of hospital operations
  and finance, and he is a valued citizen of our state; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Hillier was born July 31, 1959; a graduate of
  the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and the Georgia
  Institute of Technology at Atlanta, he has ably served the
  citizens of the Houston area for some 25 years in various
  capacities with the Harris County Hospital District and with
  Harris County; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Hillier has played an important role through
  the years in the implementation of indigent health care and
  public health policy, including the Medicaid and Medicare
  programs, and he has worked with both the Texas Legislature and
  the United States Congress to engage in the development of health
  care policy; and
         WHEREAS, Today, Mr. Hillier serves as vice president of
  Public Policy and Government Relations for the Harris County
  Hospital District; active in community affairs, he has also
  served with a variety of local, state, and federal nonprofit
  organizations, trade associations, and political boards and
  commissions; and
         WHEREAS, As he enters the prime of his life at the age of
  50, Mr. Hillier has had an impact on the lives of countless
  Texans, and he is truly deserving of recognition for his
  commitment to public service; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Robert King
  Hillier on his many contributions to his community and extend to
  him best wishes for a memorable 50th birthday; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
