Amend CSHB 300 (House committee printing) by adding the 
following ARTICLE to the bill, appropriately numbered, and 
renumbering subsequent ARTICLES of the bill accordingly:

ARTICLE ____.  NOTIFICATION BY DEPARTMENT REGARDING HIGHWAY 
CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS.
	SECTION ____.01. Section 203.022(c), Transportation Code, is 
amended to read as follows:
	(c)  The department shall by rule provide procedures for 
informing adjoining property owners and affected local governments 
and public officials of impending construction.  The rules must 
require the department to provide written notice to the governing 
body of a municipality not later than the 14th day before the date 
the department begins construction of a state highway project in 
the municipality.
