Amend HB 1462 (house committee printing) as follows:                         
	(1)  On page 1, line 8, strike "A state employee" and 
substitute "(a) A state employee".
	(2)  On page 1, between lines 12 and 13, insert:                               
	"(b) A state employee may not be granted leave under 
Subsection (a) unless the employee obtains approval from the 
employee's supervisor before taking the leave."
