Amend HB 1556 (House Committee Report) as follows:                           

(1)  On page 1, strike lines 8-10 and renumber subsequent 	subdivisions accordingly.
	(2)  On page 1, line 18, strike "department" and substitute 
"division".
	(3)  On page 1, line 21, after the period, add the following:                  

The local public health and public safety alerts may include public 
service messages provided to motorists:
		(1)  during a severe weather advisory;                                 
		(2)  during an evacuation that has been ordered; or                    
		(3)  following a declaration of a state of disaster 
issued under this chapter.
	(4)  On page 1, lines 22-23, strike "The director is the 
statewide coordinator of" and substitute "The division shall 
coordinate".
	(5)  On page 2, line 1, strike "The director shall adopt 
rules and issue directives" and substitute "The division shall 
adopt standards".
	(6)  On page 2, line 3, strike "rules and directives must 
include" and substitute "standards must address".
	(7)  On page 2, line 13, strike "director" and insert

	(9)  On page 2, after line 27, add the following:                              
	(c)  The Texas Department of Transportation shall coordinate 
with the division to determine additional methods of disseminating 
local public health and safety alerts under Section 418.191, AMBER 
alerts under Subchapter L, Chapter 411, and silver alerts under 
Subchapter M, Chapter 411, using existing resources.
