	Amend HB 1654 (house committee printing) on page 1, line 14, 
following the period, by inserting "The principal must designate, 
for each political party whose nominee for governor in the most 
recent gubernatorial general election received at least 20 percent 
of the total number of votes received by all candidates for governor 
in the election, two employees who voted in the general primary 
election or runoff primary election held by the party.  The same 
number of employees must be designated for each political party 
described by this subsection.  If there are not at least two 
employees who can be designated for each political party described 
by this subsection, the number of deputy registrars designated 
shall be the number that ensures each political party described by 
this subsection has equal representation.
