Amend HB 2509 (Senate committee printing) by adding the 
following SECTIONS, appropriately numbered, and renumbering the 
subsequent SECTIONS of the bill accordingly:
	SECTION ____.  Subchapter I, Chapter 466, Government Code, 
is amended by adding Section 466.4055 to read as follows:
	Sec. 466.4055.  PRIZE FEE.  (a)  The director shall collect 
from a person who is paid a prize of $600 or more a fee in the amount 
of three percent of the amount of the prize.
	(b)  Fees collected under this section shall be deposited to 
the credit of the general revenue fund and may be appropriated only 
to fund the TEXAS grant program administered under Subchapter M, 
Chapter 56, Education Code.
	SECTION ____.  Section 466.4055, Government Code, as added 
by this Act, applies only to a lottery prize paid by the director of 
the lottery division of the Texas Lottery Commission on or after the 
effective date of this Act.
