Amend Floor Amendment No. 18 by Hegar to CSHB 2730 (Senate 
committee printing) by striking the text of the amendment and 
substituting the following:
	Sec. 411.0852.  STUDY REGARDING PRIVATE VENDORS PROVIDING 
CRIMINAL HISTORY RECORD INFORMATION.  (a)  Not later than December 
31, 2010, the department shall conduct a study and report to the 
governor, lieutenant governor, speaker of the house, and the House 
and Senate standing committees with jurisdiction over this issue 
regarding allowing an entity authorized or required under the laws 
of this state to obtain criminal history record information, 
including national criminal history record information, regarding 
whether a person may elect, as an alternative, to contract with a 
private vendor to obtain both the criminal history record 
information and identity verification through electronic-based 
data records.
