Amend CSHB 3065 (Senate committee printing) by adding the 
following appropriately numbered SECTION to the bill and 
renumbering appropriately numbered SECTIONS of the bill 
accordingly:
	SECTION ____.  Subchapter Z, Chapter 214, Local Government 
Code, is amended by adding Section 214.907 to read as follows:
	Sec. 214.907.  LIMITATION ON MUNICIPAL REQUIREMENTS OF 
LICENSE OR PERMIT TO OCCUPY DWELLING UNIT.  A municipality may not 
require a tenant to acquire a license or permit issued by the 
municipality as a condition for occupying or leasing an individual 
dwelling unit in a single-family, duplex, or multifamily structure.  
This section does not prohibit a municipality from requiring a 
license or permit relating to the nonresidential use or the 
condition of a dwelling unit.
