Amend CSHB 3646 on page 24 by striking lines 6-8 and substituting the following: Sec. 42.160. HIGH SCHOOL ALLOTMENT. (a) A school district is entitled to an annual allotment in an amount determined by the commissioner under Subsection (a-1) for each student in weighted average daily attendance in grades 9 through 12 in the district. For purposes of this subsection, the number of students in weighted average daily attendance is calculated by multiplying the number of students in average daily attendance in grades nine through 12 in the district by the ratio for the district of the number of students in weighted average daily attendance to the number of students in average daily attendance. (a-1) The commissioner shall determine the amount of the allotment provided under Subsection (a) so that the total state cost of funding the allotment equals the total state cost of funding the allotment that would have resulted if the allotment were provided in the amount of $275 for each student in average daily attendance in grades 9 through 12 in the district.
