Amend CSHB 3646 on page 24 by striking lines 6-8 and
substituting the following:
Sec. 42.160. HIGH SCHOOL ALLOTMENT. (a) A school district
is entitled to an annual allotment of $203 for each student in
weighted average daily attendance in grades 9 through 12 in the
district. For purposes of this subsection, the number of students
in weighted average daily attendance is calculated by dividing the
sum of the district's allotments for students in grades nine
through 12 under Subchapter B and Sections 42.151-42.154, 42.156,
and 42.157 by the basic allotment.
(a-1) Notwithstanding Subsection (a), for the 2009-2010 and
2010-2011 school years, the commissioner shall adjust the amount of
the allotment provided under that subsection as necessary to ensure
that the total state cost of funding the allotment does not exceed
the total state cost of funding the allotment that would have
resulted in each of those school years if the allotment were
provided in the amount of $275 for each student in average daily
attendance in grades 9 through 12 in the district. This subsection
expires September 1, 2011.
