Amend the Thibaut amendment to CSHB 4586 (page 3 of the 
prefiled amendment packet) as follows:
	(1)  Insert the following between lines 3 and 4 of the 
Thibaut amendment:    
	2)  On page 38, line 3, strike "$18 million" and substitute  
"$25 million".  
	(2)  Strike lines 4 and 5 of the Thibaut amendment and 
substitute the following:
	3)  Add the following appropriately numbered SECTIONS to the 
bill to read as follows:
	(3)  On line 9 of the Thibaut amendment, strike "$68,268,044" 
and substitute "$49,668,044".
	(4)  Add the following at the end of the Thibaut amendment:                    
	SECTION     .  APPROPRIATION FOR REBUILDING OF SCHOOL 
FACILITY DAMAGED BY HURRICANE.  In addition to other amounts 
appropriated to the Texas Education Agency for the state fiscal 
year ending August 31, 2009, the amount of $8,000,000 in general 
revenue is appropriated to the Texas Education Agency for the state 
fiscal year ending August 31, 2009, for distribution, as authorized 
by Section 51, Article III, Texas Constitution, to the Bridge City 
Independent School District to rebuild the elementary school that 
suffered extensive damage during Hurricane Ike.
	SECTION     .  LAMAR STATE COLLEGE - ORANGE: APPROPRIATION 
FOR HURRICANE IKE DAMAGE.  The amount of $3,600,000 in general 
revenue is appropriated to Lamar State College - Orange for the two 
year period beginning on the effective date of this Act for the 
purpose of paying or reimbursing costs incurred in connection with 
damages caused by Hurricane Ike.
