System updates will be applied on February 19, 2026 at 6:00 PM. These updates will include changes to the user interface. Work is expected to take approximately 30 minutes to complete, during which the site will be unavailable.

	Amend CSSB 1 as follows:                                                     
	(1)  Under the Article XI appropriations to the Texas Higher 
Education Coordinating Board (page XI-6), add the following 
appropriately numbered rider:
	____.  Contingent Appropriation: Resident Tuition Exemption 
at Public Institutions of Higher Education for Children of Certain 
Parents Deployed on Active Military Duty.  Contingent on the 
enactment and becoming law of SB 297 or similar legislation of the 
81st Legislature, Regular Session, that provides a resident tuition 
exemption at public institutions of higher education for children 
of certain members of the armed forces who are deployed on active 
duty for the purpose of engaging in a combative military operation 
outside the United States, the sum of $699,229 is appropriated out 
of the General Revenue Fund to the Texas Higher Education 
Coordinating Board for the state fiscal biennium beginning 
September 1, 2009, for the purpose of reimbursing public 
institutions of higher education that provide those tuition 
exemptions.
	(2)  Adjust the article totals (page XI-12) accordingly.
