Amend CSSB 3 (Senate committee report) as follows:                           
	(1)  In SECTION 4 of the bill, in the recital (page 2, line 
48), strike "and (c-2)" and substitute ", (c-2), and (c-3)".
	(2)  In SECTION 4 of the bill, immediately following added 
Section 28.002(c-2), Education Code (page 2, between lines 59 and 
60), insert the following:
	(c-3)  The State Board of Education shall adopt rules 
requiring students enrolled in grade levels six, seven, and eight 
to complete a fine arts course for at least four semesters during 
those grade levels as part of a district's fine arts curriculum.
	(3)  In SECTION 28 of the bill, in Subsection (a) (page 55, 
line 4), strike "Subsection (b)" and substitute "Subsections (b) 
and (c)".
	(4)  In SECTION 28 of the bill, in Subsection (b) (page 55, 
line 7), strike "(b)" and substitute the following:
	(b)  Section 28.002(c-3), Education Code, as added by this 
Act, applies beginning with the 2011-2012 school year.
