Amend SB 1001 (house committee printing) by adding the 
following appropriately numbered SECTION to the bill and 
renumbering subsequent SECTIONS of the bill accordingly:
	SECTION ____.  Subchapter D, Chapter 501, Insurance Code, is 
amended by adding Section 501.161 to read as follows:
	Sec. 501.161.  REPORT TO LEGISLATURE.  On or before December 
31 of each even-numbered year, the office shall submit to the 
appropriate committees of each house of the legislature a written 
report containing any recommendations for legislation that the 
office determines are appropriate to benefit and protect insurance 
consumers, as a class, in the insurance market in this state.
