H.B. 383 amends current law relating to county bail bond board meetings in certain counties.
RULEMAKING AUTHORITY
This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.
SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS
SECTION 1. Amends Section 1704.55, Occupations Code, by amending Subsection (b) and adding Subsection (c), as follows:
(b) Requires a county bail bond board (board), except as provided by Subsection (c), to meet at least once a month and at other times at the call of the presiding officer.
(c) Requires a board in a county with a population of less than 50,000 to meet at least once each quarter at the call of the presiding officer.
SECTION 2. Effective date: upon passage or September 1, 2009.
