Committee Report (Unamended) |
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE
In July 2008, the Office of Court Administration completed its judicial needs assessment as requested by the 79th Legislature. The study found that Denton County needed an additional 1.6 district courts. Denton County has the lowest number of district courts per 1,000 persons. The Denton County Bar Association and the Denton County Commissioners Court both support the creation of the 431st Judicial District.
H.B. 1527 creates the 431st Judicial District in Denton County.
