ANALYSIS
H.B. 2113 amends the Local Government Code to entitle a fire fighter or police officer to a paid day off from working on September 11 of each year if: the fire fighter or police officer agrees to or is required to work on a holiday during the same fiscal year and chooses to take that holiday on September 11; or the fire fighter or police officer chooses to use a vacation day, a day in lieu of a vacation day or holiday, or accumulated compensatory leave to take a paid day off on September 11; and the fire fighter's or police officer's supervisor does not require the fire fighter or police officer to work that day to maintain minimum staffing necessary for public safety.
