AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

This bill would repeal the expiration date of Chapter 258 (Clarification of Existence of Public Interest in Road by Adoption of County Road Map), Transportation Code, which is currently set to expire on September 1, 2009.  Chapter 258 authorizes a county to clarify the existence of a public interest in a road and establishes the procedures for doing so.

 

H.B. 2462 relates to the authority of a county to clarify the existence of a public interest in certain roads.

 

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

 

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.

 

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

 

SECTION 1.  Repealer:  Section 258.007 (Expiration of Chapter), Transportation Code.

 

SECTION 2.  Effective date:  upon passage or on the 91st day after the last day of the legislative session.
