AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

 

H.B. 3062 amends current law relating to the notice of an election provided to a voter registrar.

 

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

 

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.

 

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

 

SECTION 1.  Amends Section 4.008, Election Code, as follows:

 

Sec. 4.008.  NOTICE TO COUNTY CLERK.  Requires the governing body of a political subdivision, other than a county, that orders an election to deliver notice of the election to the county clerk and voter registrar of each county in which the political subdivision is located not later than the 60th day before election day. 

 

SECTION 2.  Effective date:  September 1, 2009.
