AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

This bill names the outpatient clinic operated by the South Texas Health Care System in Harlingen the Jim Solis Outpatient Clinic in honor of his seven terms as state representative for District 38.

H.B. 4642 amends current law relating to the Jim Solis Outpatient Clinic.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

SECTION 1.  Amends Subchapter A, Chapter 13, Health and Safety Code, by adding Section 13.007, as follows:

Sec. 13.007.  JIM SOLIS OUTPATIENT CLINIC.  Provides that the outpatient clinic operated by the South Texas Health Care System in Harlingen, Texas, is named the Jim Solis Outpatient Clinic in honor of Jim Solis.

SECTION 2.  Effective date: upon passage or September 1, 2009.
