BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

H.B. 4642 names the outpatient clinic operated by the South Texas Health Care System in Harlingen the Jim Solis Outpatient Clinic in honor of his seven terms as a State Representative for District 38.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency, or institution.

ANALYSIS

H.B. 4642 amends the Health and Safety Code to name the outpatient clinic operated by the South Texas Health Care System in Harlingen, Texas the Jim Solis Outpatient Clinic.

EFFECTIVE DATE

On passage, or, if the act does not receive the necessary vote, the act takes effect September 1, 2009.
