AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

This bill names the outpatient clinic operated by the South Texas Health Care System in Harlingen the Rep. Jim Solis and Colonel H. William "Bill" Card, Jr. Outpatient Clinic in honor of those individuals' contributions to the city of Harlingen.

C.S.H.B. 4642 relates to the naming of the Rep. Jim Solis and Colonel H. William "Bill" Card, Jr. Outpatient Clinic.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

SECTION 1.  Amends Subchapter A, Chapter 13, Health and Safety Code, by adding Section 13.007, as follows:

Sec. 13.007.  REP. JIM SOLIS AND COLONEL H . WILLIAM "BILL" CARD, JR. OUTPATIENT CLINIC.  Provides that the outpatient clinic operated by the South Texas Health Care System in Harlingen, Texas, is named the Rep. Jim Solis and Colonel H. William "Bill" Card, Jr. Outpatient Clinic in honor of Rep. Jim Solis and Colonel H. William "Bill" Card, Jr.

SECTION 2.  Effective date: upon passage or September 1, 2009.
