AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

Currently, the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) authority may charge for parking at its facilities as compensation for the use of the public transportation system.  DART may also set fare rates according to a zone system or to another classification that the DART authority determines to be reasonable.

S.B. 405 allows DART to set parking fees according to a zone system or any other differential rate that it determines to be reasonable.
