Committee Report (Unamended)

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

This bill creates Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District No. 192 (district).  Currently, the land located within the boundaries of the proposed district is undeveloped.  The territory of the district would lie within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Sugar Land, Fort Bend County, Texas.

S.B. 994 amends current law relating to the creation of the district, providing authority to impose a tax and issue bonds, and granting a limited power of eminent domain.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

It is the Committee's opinion that this bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency, or institution.
