AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT
Currently, legislators can contract with the state for business purposes but are not required to disclose the business arrangements to the public. S.B. 1200 is intended to improve transparency in legislators' business dealing with state agencies.
As proposed, S.B. 1200 requires legislators to report on their financial disclosure statements information about any contracts they or their businesses have with the state.
