A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to enforcement of commercial motor vehicle safety |
|
|
standards in certain counties. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 644.101(c), Transportation Code, is |
|
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(c) A sheriff or a deputy sheriff of a county bordering the |
|
|
United Mexican States or of a county with a population of 250,000 |
|
|
[2.2 million] or more is eligible to apply for certification under |
|
|
this section. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
