A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the requirement that members of the Texas Medical Board
  provide contact information to license holders.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter A, Chapter 154, Occupations Code, is
  amended by adding Section 154.0035 to read as follows:
         Sec. 154.0035.  BOARD MEMBER CONTACT INFORMATION. (a) Not
  later than the 14th day after the date a member is appointed to the
  board or the date a board member's contact information changes, the
  board member shall provide to the staff of the board information
  about how the member can be contacted at the member's home or
  regular place of business.
         (b)  On request, the staff of the board shall provide the
  contact information under Subsection (a) to a person who holds a
  license issued by the board.
         SECTION 2.  Not later than the 30th day after the effective
  date of this Act, each member of the Texas Medical Board shall make
  the initial submission to the staff of the board of the information
  required by Section 154.0035, Occupations Code, as added by this
  Act.
         SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
  a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
  provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
  Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
  Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
