A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the requirement that members of the Texas Medical Board |
|
|
provide contact information to license holders. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 154, Occupations Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 154.0035 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 154.0035. BOARD MEMBER CONTACT INFORMATION. (a) Not |
|
|
later than the 14th day after the date a member is appointed to the |
|
|
board or the date a board member's contact information changes, the |
|
|
board member shall provide to the staff of the board information |
|
|
about how the member can be contacted at the member's home or |
|
|
regular place of business. |
|
|
(b) On request, the staff of the board shall provide the |
|
|
contact information under Subsection (a) to a person who holds a |
|
|
license issued by the board. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Not later than the 30th day after the effective |
|
|
date of this Act, each member of the Texas Medical Board shall make |
|
|
the initial submission to the staff of the board of the information |
|
|
required by Section 154.0035, Occupations Code, as added by this |
|
|
Act. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
