A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the requirement that livestock at auction facilities |
|
|
located in or near a fever tick quarantine area be dipped. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 167.051, Agriculture Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: |
|
|
(d) The owner of a livestock auction facility located in or |
|
|
not more than 20 miles from the border of an area quarantined for |
|
|
the prevention or control of fever ticks shall dip each head of |
|
|
livestock before allowing the livestock to be moved from the |
|
|
premises of the auction facility. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
