A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the labeling of products that contain bisphenol-A. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 501, Health and Safety |
|
|
Code, is amended by adding Section 501.0236 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 501.0236. LABELING OF PRODUCTS CONTAINING |
|
|
BISPHENOL-A. A product containing bisphenol-A shall be |
|
|
conspicuously labeled with the warning "This product contains |
|
|
bisphenol-A, a chemical that has been shown to be a developmental, |
|
|
neural, and reproductive toxicant." |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
