A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the duties of a court granting an occupational license |
|
|
to a person whose driver's license has been suspended. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 521.249, Transportation Code, is amended |
|
|
by amending Subsection (a) and adding Subsection (a-1) to read as |
|
|
follows: |
|
|
(a) Not later than the 10th day after the date the court |
|
|
signs an order granting an occupational license to a person, the |
|
|
[The] court shall send: |
|
|
(1) a certified copy of the petition and the court |
|
|
order setting out the judge's findings and restrictions to the |
|
|
department; and |
|
|
(2) a copy of the order to the person. |
|
|
(a-1) The person may use a copy of the order as a restricted |
|
|
license until the 31st day after the date on which the order takes |
|
|
effect. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
