A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the use of bulletproof glass in certain vehicles |
|
|
purchased by the Department of Public Safety. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 547.702, Transportation Code, is amended |
|
|
by adding Subsection (g) to read as follows: |
|
|
(g) A department police vehicle must be equipped with a |
|
|
front windshield containing bulletproof glass. |
|
|
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only |
|
|
to vehicles purchased by the Department of Public Safety of the |
|
|
State of Texas on or after the effective date of this Act. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
