A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the financial audit of certain regional transportation |
|
|
authorities by the state auditor. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Chapter 321, Government Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Section 321.025 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 321.025. FINANCIAL AUDIT OF CERTAIN REGIONAL |
|
|
TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITIES. (a) The state auditor shall conduct a |
|
|
financial audit under Section 321.0131 of an authority consisting |
|
|
of one subregion governed by a subregional board created under |
|
|
Subchapter O, Chapter 452, Transportation Code, and submit a |
|
|
written report on the audit to the legislature no later than October |
|
|
1, 2010. |
|
|
(b) This section expires November 1, 2010. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
