AN ACT
|
|
relating to leave for certain state employees who volunteer or |
|
participate in training for Court Appointed Special Advocates. |
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter Z, Chapter 661, Government Code, is |
|
amended by adding Section 661.921 to read as follows: |
|
Sec. 661.921. COURT APPOINTED SPECIAL ADVOCATES VOLUNTEER. |
|
A state employee may be granted leave not to exceed five hours each |
|
month to participate in mandatory training or perform volunteer |
|
services for Court Appointed Special Advocates without a deduction |
|
in salary or loss of vacation time, sick leave, earned overtime |
|
credit, or state compensatory time. |
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
