A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the appointment of high school deputy registrars. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 13.046(a), Election Code, is amended to |
|
|
read as follows: |
|
|
(a) Each principal of a public or private high school [or
|
|
|
the principal's designee] shall designate four people who are |
|
|
employees of the high school or employees of the district in which |
|
|
the high school is located and serving at the high school to serve |
|
|
as [a] deputy registrars [registrar] for the county in which the |
|
|
school is located. At least three of the employees designated as |
|
|
deputy registrars under this section must be classroom teachers or |
|
|
full-time counselors certified under Subchapter B, Chapter 21, |
|
|
Education Code. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
